Calculator Methodology

Last Updated: May 11, 2026

SamCalculator is a precise multi-calculators publisher. Every tool on this site uses a published, peer-reviewed formula — never a blackbox approximation. This page lists the exact formula and source references for every calculator we currently publish. For our broader review, correction, and conflicts-of-interest standards, see our Editorial Policy.

Our Source Hierarchy

When two sources conflict, we prefer them in this order:

  1. US government and regulator publications (CDC, NIH, USDA, IRS, BLS, Federal Reserve)
  2. WHO, FAO, and other international government bodies
  3. Professional bodies (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, ACSM, ACOG, American Heart Association)
  4. Peer-reviewed research (PubMed-indexed, preferring meta-analyses)
  5. Industry-standard research (Vanguard, Morningstar, NRF, Adobe Analytics, S&P)
